Rally 4 Research Open Water event

A great charity event for Skis, Outriggers, kayaks etc, from Roseville to Northbridge and back. 27th September.

There are prizes for winners and random prize draws to give everyone a chance to win. Good for beginners and experienced paddlers. A great opportunity to try out new craft in flat water before hitting the ocean. You can get a bit of chop in the harbour but nothing too scary at this time of day. Its a good hit out, about the same distance as the Bridge to Manly Beach event. I paddle outriggers and take the OC1 and OC2 down there quite a bit, there is also have an annual dragon boat event down there... sometime in October. If anyone is interested in trying an OC1 on the day (after the race) let me know!

This is a great location for paddling and also a beautiful place to chill out with a picnic afterwards.
We will certainly be packing the picnic hamper for afterwards and would welcome the company of any fellow paddlers who would be keen to do likewise.

The wind did not stop some die hard paddlers from coming down to the Rally 4 Research race yesterday! Congratulations to our winners and to everyone who braved the wind to complete the 12km course from Garigal National Park in Roseville to Sailor Bay return. Some lucky entrants had the chance to paddle with a seal as it rolled around in the choppy waters... a fine reward for a challenging event!
