Australian Canoeing (AC) confirms that Canoe Kayak athlete Tate Smith has received a two-year ban from competition following a decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) relating to three anti-doping rule violations.

After a year long political fight, SIRC is finally able to apply a Herbicide Treatment in the Competition Lake.
In an update from SIRC this week we've been advised the following:
"The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority have issued the Sydney International Regatta Centre with a Permit for Minor Use of Fluridone for suppression of Vallisneria and Hydrilla.

NSW para athlete, Colin Sieders, is racing to qualify a berth at the Rio 2016 Olympics tonight at 10:50 after qualifying for the final of the K1 200 KL1.
Meanwhile Murray Stewart will kick off his campaign in the K1 1000 Heats at 6:14 (yes in 45 minutes). Lachie Tame is also up racing today in the heats of the K2 1000 with Ken Wallace (QLD) at 8:46.
