Open Water

A classic 20 Beaches Classic

After months of preparation for the event mother nature posed the organisers a tough question. In the face of a destructive Easterly crashing against the Northern Beaches and closing them, what should the course be? There were hopes of a start from Fisherman’s Beach but then if a paddler had to get into trouble it would mean real trouble and rescue would be difficult.

So the 20 Beaches is almost upon us! You can still register at:

Race Report - Bay Runner 2014

For anyone who wants to organise an Open Water Race be prepared for stress! You want good weather, clear skies are nice. The wind to blow from the right direction and some swell as well. I have tried to pray and use karma where possible it is often just a dream.
Today someone must have said the right words for us.
