Watsons Bay Safe Boating Education Centre

PaddleNSW prepares to deliver PaddleSafe Courses at the new-from-old Sydney Pilot Station. You couldn't wish for a better venue, with the classroom surrounded on three sides with magnificant views, clear crystal waters leading to the Ocean off Watsons Bay, a Ferry Service connecting Sydney Harbour and some of the best seafood outlets in Sydney.

A classic 20 Beaches Classic

After months of preparation for the event mother nature posed the organisers a tough question. In the face of a destructive Easterly crashing against the Northern Beaches and closing them, what should the course be? There were hopes of a start from Fisherman’s Beach but then if a paddler had to get into trouble it would mean real trouble and rescue would be difficult.

So the 20 Beaches is almost upon us! You can still register at:

Mark Feather RIP

On Saturday 15th of November a downwind ocean race was held in East London, South Africa. One of the paddlers, Mark Feather, was lost at sea during the event and was later found deceased 40 km past the finish on Monday morning.

2014/15 Oceanseries

PaddleNSW is delighted to announce that our Open Water Technical Committee will be managing the Oceanseries this year. The Oceanseries has over the last 8 years been one of, if not the foremost ocean paddling series in Australia.

Manly Warringah Kayak Club will host the ‘Stroke the Lion’ race on Saturday 21st June from Bayview Park. Race starts at 9am.

There is  both the short and long course available for paddlers, plus the addition of a female double ski to the race categories.

With free hot soup, bread rolls & drinks why not come along for a great morning of racing on the beautiful Pittwater waterway north of Sydney?
