Gaye Hatfield - PaddleNSW Official of the Year

At the PaddleNSW Annual Awards Night held 13 October, hard-working official and PNSW Marathon Committee legend GAYE HATFIELD was suitably recognised as the 2013/14 PNSW Official of the Year.

Gaye continues to provide outstanding service to the Marathon paddling community, the sport and it’s ongoing development. Some of her many, many roles include:

Myall Classic Marathon

On 13 September, nearly 300 paddlers made the journey to Tea Gardens on the Great Lakes for the 2014 Myall Classic Marathon.

A total of  $6,000 has been raised this year in support of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. Congratulations to all involved!

Canberra’s Ben Rake off to the Canoe Marathon World Championships

CANBERRA teen Ben Rake is off to represent Australia as an under 18 in the Canoe Marathon World Championships in Oklahoma later this month.

Entries open for the 2014 Hawkesbury Canoe Classic

The iconic Hawkesbury Canoe Classic is one of the world’s leading marathon paddles and it all happens on the last weekend of October each year right in Sydney’s very own backyard.

2014 Marathon Nationals - John Preston

The Saturday morning of the 2014 Marathon nationals was dull with only a slight breeze ruffling the water of Lake Wendouree, Ballarat. This was a marked improvement on the windy drizzly conditions experienced on Good Friday. Nevertheless the temperature was low and many competitors needed some urging from the officials before they moved onto the entry pontoon.
