After popular demand, PaddleNSW is now running another L1 Flatwater Coach Course at Narrabeen MWKC Clubhouse.

Following a very successful series in 2011, the Vajda 2012 NSW Marathon 9 Series kicks off at Canberra on the 25th February.

Calling all Young Athletes!

Assistance comes in two forms:

  1. The NSW Department of Sport and Recreation supports young PaddleNSW country members for last year’s travel expenses to get to State age Competition. The DEADLINE has been extended to end February 2012. Please refer to the link for more details http://www.paddlensw.org.au/content/athlete-assistance-policy-0
  2. An Australian Government initiative managed by the Australian Sports Commission and supports 8,000 young people each year.

World Cup Masters & World Champs results Australian Team

Attached are a copy of the results from the 2011 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships.

The results of the Masters competition on the Wednesday and the Thursday are also included.

Highlights include the world champion and gold medal performance of Bill Bain from Queensland in the junior men K1, the senior women K2 (Amy Peters and Kate McGrath)  finishing 7th, Michael Leverett 9th in a large (37 starters) and strong field for the senior men K1, Trevor Murray best finish in a world championships with a 13th place.  Good performances from all other competitors.

Entries for the 2011 Australian Canoe Marathon Championships are now open. Click here to enter.  Early bird entries close at midnight 8 April 2011.  Late entries close at midnight on Tuesday 19 April 2011 – no entries will be accepted after this time.
