Lifejacket rules for the HCC

In line with current NSW Maritime regulations, all lifejackets bearing certification accepted by NSW Maritime for paddlesports (this excludes type 1 lifejackets) will be accepted for the HCC. All lifejackets must still pass visual inspection and buoyancy testing prior to the event.

Assessor and Presenter Training

PaddleNSW invites all experienced coaches and instructors to complete assessor and presentor training (this is a simplified version of the Certificate IV in Workplace training and will be accepted as the minimum training for assessors). Costs can be reimbursed from PaddleNSW if your Club endorses your work as a leading coach or Instructor.

Success for Swift Water Rescue Technician Course held 11-13 April

Fourteen participants braved some very cold weather to train up on rescue techniques for emergency situations. You do have to look on the bright side, as lead instructor Morgan Masuku declared, that the high river levels of the Nymboida last week may have created more problems than they could deal with.
